Worked for a long time in the cake industry and finally wanted to get into party planning. When my little girls were born I started to fantasize of perfectly prim birthday party tablescapes and airy little ribbons and tissue flowers hung from the ceiling. And I dreamed about bake sales with perfect cookies and coiffed little cupcakes. It is a rare opportunity to challenge my creativity and resourcefulness even though to others it would be a nightmare of frenzied planning, chaotic last minute preparations, and sacrificing perfection for the sake of completion. Having worked in the wedding cake industry for 6+ years I know what stress can feel like (hey you can't really drop that wedding cake! It's not like you can bake a cake, cool it, and decorate it when the wedding is 1 hour away!) so nothing scares me easy.
